SERDANG, 8 MAY 2025 – The Malaysia Autoshow 2025 officially kicked off, marking a pivotal moment in the nation’s mobility transformation. Featuring over 200 exhibitors and more than 500 vehicles—including a record-breaking number of electric vehicles (EVs) across both passenger and two-wheeler segments—the event reaffirms its status as the region’s top platform for future mobility solutions.
Covering 50,000 square metres, the show brings together the entire mobility ecosystem—from OEMs and aftermarket players to financial services and EV infrastructure providers—under one roof. Organised by the Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii), this year’s edition continues its tradition of offering a holistic and hands-on automotive experience, complete with vehicle launches and test drives.
The event was officially launched by the Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz. He hailed the Autoshow as a key step toward establishing Malaysia as a regional hub for sustainable and next-generation mobility.

“The strength of Malaysia’s automotive industry lies in deeper regional integration. By building complementary supply chains and expanding intra-ASEAN markets, we can boost efficiency, reduce reliance on external sources, and create a more resilient and agile ecosystem,” said YB Senator Tengku Zafrul. “As ASEAN Chair in 2025, Malaysia is proud to champion the region’s e-mobility goals. Our capabilities, together with the platform provided by MAS 2025, position us well to become a global leader in green and future-ready mobility.”
He further highlighted that the Autoshow aligns closely with national strategies including the National Automotive Policy (NAP), the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030), and the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR)—all of which support the country’s pivot toward high-value, innovation-driven industries and cleaner energy adoption.

MAS 2025 offers more than a static exhibition. Visitors can engage directly with the latest vehicles, test drive various models, and explore a wide range of segments all in one venue. With over 70 new model debuts—including cars, bikes, EVs, and mobility tech—the Autoshow serves as both a product launchpad and innovation sandbox.
Other show highlights include the “Cars of the Year” showcase, cutting-edge connected vehicle tech, and the grand finale of the ASEAN Unity Drive 2025—a 9,000km regional convoy promoting automotive cooperation.
“This Autoshow is instrumental to MARii’s mission of accelerating technology adoption, enhancing industry capabilities, and driving sustainable growth,” said MARii CEO Azrul Reza Aziz. “Here, visitors experience the full scope of the mobility value chain—from discovering new tech to hands-on vehicle testing and even direct purchasing.”
This year’s show has earned a place in the ASEAN Records as the Largest Outdoor Obstacle Test Drive Zone at an Autoshow, featuring a 5.1-kilometre custom-built track. Attendees can test more than 100 vehicles—including ICEs, EVs, motorcycles, and 4x4s—across simulated real-world conditions.
With Malaysia recording a Total Industry Volume (TIV) of 816,747 units in 2024—ranking second in Southeast Asia and 23rd globally—the local EV market is growing rapidly. Nearly 9,850 electric and hybrid vehicles were sold in the first quarter of 2025 alone.
Malaysia Autoshow 2025 is expected to attract over 250,000 visitors, including OEMs, parts manufacturers, industry professionals, and the general public. For tickets and details, visit www.autoshow.my or follow MAS2025 on social media.
