Great Wall Motor (GWM) Malaysia continues to push the boundaries of value and style with its best-selling hybrid SUV — the Haval H6 HEV. In its latest update, GWM has introduced a brand-new Phantom Black interior option, giving the H6 a sleeker and sportier cabin aesthetic, all without increasing the price tag. This latest refresh signals GWM’s commitment to offering premium upgrades and long-term ownership peace of mind — without asking consumers to pay more.

A Darker, Sleeker Cabin Option

Previously only available with a dual-tone black-and-cream interior, the Haval H6 HEV now offers buyers the choice of a fully blacked-out Phantom Black cabin. This includes all major interior elements — seats, door cards, dashboard, and centre console — now wrapped in deep black tones. Rose gold accents have been replaced with sleek silver finishes, giving the cabin a sharper, more modern appearance, while piano black inserts remain to maintain the premium feel.

What’s great is that this new interior theme isn’t locked to a specific body colour. Buyers can choose the Phantom Black interior regardless of which of the five exterior colours they pick — whether it’s Sun Black, Energy Green, Hamilton White, Ayers Silver, or Crayon Grey.

Major Upgrade: 10-Year Battery Warranty

Beyond aesthetics, GWM has announced a significant warranty enhancement for the Haval H6 HEV’s hybrid battery system. Previously covered for eight years or 1,000,000 km, the battery warranty has now been extended to a massive 10 years or 1,000,000 km. Even more impressively, this upgrade also applies retroactively to all existing H6 HEV owners, giving current customers an unexpected boost in ownership confidence.

GWM has also made changes to its warranty transfer policy. Previously, extended warranties applied only to the first owner — but now, all warranties (including the battery, engine, vehicle, and hybrid system) can be transferred to the next owner, making the H6 HEV a more attractive used car option. However, the second owner will get a slightly shorter coverage: the engine warranty and HEV system warranty will be capped at seven years or 200,000 km.

Premium Specs Still Unmatched at the Price

Despite these upgrades, the locally assembled Haval H6 HEV retains its original price of RM139,800 (on-the-road, without insurance). At this price point, the SUV remains one of the most feature-packed hybrids in Malaysia.

Performance-wise, the H6 HEV’s powertrain remains unchanged. It combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine (150 PS, 230 Nm) with a 177 PS electric motor and a two-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT), delivering a total system output of 243 PS and 530 Nm. The H6 HEV accelerates from 0–100 km/h in just 7.7 seconds, impressive for a 1,720 kg SUV.

On the outside, the car rolls on 19-inch black alloy wheels with Hankook Ventus S1 Evo3 SUV tyres. LED matrix headlights, daytime running lights, fog lamps, and a powered tailgate add to the premium exterior package.

Tech and Comfort Features Galore

Inside, the H6 is equipped with all the modern features you’d expect — and more. It includes a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a rotary gear selector, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear air vents, a Qi wireless charger, and a panoramic sunroof. The seats are powered and ventilated, and the driver’s seat even comes with lumbar support. There’s also ambient lighting, a negative-ion air purifier, a head-up display, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity through an eight-speaker audio system.

Safety First with Level 2 ADAS

Safety-wise, the H6 HEV doesn’t disappoint. It comes with six airbags, a 360-degree camera with transparent chassis view, a parking assist system, hill descent control, tyre pressure monitoring, and a robust Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). This includes adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane change assist, rear cross traffic alert, and traffic jam assist.
